B.M.E.S. recently welcomed the children and their helpers from the Bedford MENCAP Playscheme for two days of riding on our railway.
The scheme runs for three weeks at the beginning of the summer holiday period and provides an opportunity for children and young people with learning disabilities to take part in fun activities and trips.
The helpers and volunteers brought two groups of their young friends to our railway on two consecutive Thursdays. This has become a regular event in our calendar and we were again delighted to open our facilities and run our trains for this very deserving cause.
It was a wonderful two days and good fun for both our visitors and ourselves – so much so that we have already booked the dates for 2017!
