Sunday 1st, May dawned bright and club members assembled to prepare for a day of running trains for the public. A queue of happy families were soon awaiting the first train whilst steam was being raised. All was ready to go and the first train departed at 10:30am.
With four locos in steam plus one electric and one petrol engined all three railways were kept busy all day. The Station Buffet was soon full of families enjoying the selection of drinks, cakes and ice creams on offer. In spite of a doubtful weather forecast Bank Holiday Monday also started well and once again all our lines were open and busy.
As we closed at the end of the holiday a few spots of rain appeared but the enthusiasm of the passengers and our club had not been dampened after all. Thanks to all our passengers and friends old and new who supported our efforts over the two day holiday. There is now a four week break before we do it all again during which time we plan to renew a further length of the main line track.
