Trains were running over the weekend of 5th and 6th May with warm, yes warm, sunny weather.
Visitor numbers were amomg the best for a long time with a healthy influx of first timers. On the main line there were always four trains in action with, for a short while, five. Not to be forgotten were the smaller trains working hard at the Winterfield end of the line.
The buffet did a roaring trade selling out its goodies on both days requiring urgent trips to supplement the stock.
A small display of many types of stationary engines working on compressed air created a lot of interest.
In addition to the trains a miniature traction engine did sterling work providing rides around the car park.
From a more prosaic view point our treasurer went home with a broad grin for the first time this season.
Many thanks to each and everyone who made the weekend such a success.
The trains will be running again over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of 26th and 27th May.
