Boiler Testing 2008
Testing can be arranged via Dick Billington on 01525 750914 BEFORE 9PM PLEASE.  Or email Dick at dick.billington@ntlworld.com

Members are reminded that it is their responsibility to prepare the boilers for testing and to provide any blanks or adaptors required for the test.  If you require advice please ask any of the boiler testers.  Preparation does mean the cleaning of your model, especially the boiler tubes, smokebox, firebox and wherever possible removing grate assembly.  Please bring the pressure gauge with your model as it will be subject to checking for accuracy and you will not receive a certificate without it.

The adaptor to the club testing equipment has a male thread 3/8 in x26tpi, of minimum thread length 1/2in and a female tapered centre made by a taper centre drill or Slocombe drill as some know it.

NOTE:  Members who have models with steel boilers over ten years old and who require the hydrostatic test should consult the boiler testers first as we may wish to look at the inside of your boiler.  This is quite probable when the boiler is over fifteen years old.

Following representations from the Southern Federation you will not be given a certificate if your boiler does not have an identification serial number.
